Hey babes!
As the wedding season approaches, I know bridesmaids are also getting ready for the big day! This year I happen to be one!! So I thought I would make a quick blog of things that have been helpful, and details to have a fun start of the day!
Something I’ve learned with hanging out with all the girls is to acknowledge amazing ideas and things to avoid if you are new to my site.. here’s a little about me! I freaking love weddings, I love the idea of collecting special moments, supporting friends, love having a good time and looking “top shelf”. I feel honored to be the first vendor.. but now, with this honor, there’s a responsibility! And it's not just to get them ready, My duty is keeping the bridal party on track, finding who I can trust to help the bride to reapply lipstick, or remove the veil without messing up the hair. I almost made this blog for the Maid of honor, but I have seen it all, and I can recognize what each of you has to offer!
So this blog is for the bride’s babes! For the ones that want to have a blast! Get a little tipsy but still ready to run and dance! I’m sure you all know the basics, say yes! Get your dress and shoes! Help with the bridal shower, don’t get crazy at the Bach.. and be on time the day of the wedding!
But here are other things I keep telling my brides to share with their bridal party-
1- Moooney!
Being part of the bridal party comes with a cost, besides the attire and parties.. there’s some other things to keep in mind! Coffee runs, a quick stop at the market, and yes! makeup and hair should be included in your budget! Save $10- $20 a month and you will be set.
2- Don’t wait!
Find your hairstyle and makeup look. The last thing you want to do is make the bride look for styles or make decisions for you!
Talk to the rest of the girls and see what they are doing, the more you plan it the more you will be happy with your look.
3- Steam your dress
Just do it the night before and if your dress needs a few touch ups do it first thing in the morning, don’t wait until the last minute, if you do.. your makeup will melt, your hair will get frizzy, you don’t want to be the one with the dress that is wrinkly in pictures, or be late!
4- Be part of the team and hire the pro
Get your nails done! If you get your makeup done professionally you won't have to worry if the makeup will last, the beauty team is there for you to make sure you are happy with your look, pro kits come with all the colors and everything waterproof, trust the process but for sure mention your concerns before they start! By hiring the pros you will be part of the cohesive look of the bridal party if you don’t… you might look apart and sometimes is not in the best way.
If you decide to do it yourself, bring all the things, take your time and try to match the rest of the girls!
5- Be ready!
Be ready for everything and anything, from being available to pick up things before the wedding to drop off some.
It’s so fun to be with all the girls but remember to read the room. Does the room need to be cleaned? Does the bride need you to help her breathe?
Know what you are good at and take the lead. Be ready to stay positive at all times, the wedding day is not the day to verbalize negative thoughts about the location, times, activities, looks, vendors… or family members.
As a bridesmaid, you will have guests come to you with questions, know your timeline, bathrooms, emergency kit and exist.
6- Ambiance
Remember the part where I said, ”know what you are good at and take the lead!”? Plan a playlist start with something soft and gradually pump it! Same with food, nothing heavy or greasy, (high energy but low mess) something that is easy to eat before or after your makeup. Please, don’t forget to bring a toothbrush, floss, mouth wash! (No gum!!) I trust you all with drinks! Please don’t disappoint ;)
Remember that you were asked to be a bridesmaid because you are so special! Be part of all the activities, meetups, don't forget to bring that sauce and have a blast!
I hope these tips come in handy! If you think this is helpful or have other tips please let me know in the comments!
